Loving Kindness in Children’s Yoga
Nothing is more important than children’s health and happiness. Yoga is a great activity to give children the ultimate head start.
As the founder and operator of Bend and Stretch Wellness Studio, I have over 10 years experience in the industry and a passion for YOGA that I like to share with others. As an advocate of children’s health, I love teaching, entertaining and developing little minds and bodies with yoga and meditation. Yoga provides all the vital foundations for physical, mental and emotional development and is also a fun activity for kids. At Bend and Stretch Wellness Studio, our philosophy is to let children discover their own personal space, through stretching, yoga postures and interaction with their classmates in their own time. Parents have been happy to see their kids become calmer, more focused, happier and balanced through our unique services.
We have created a specialised 10 and 20 minute classes, for kindy kids between 2-5 years.

Loving Kindness in the Correctional System
The Purpose of the Bend and Stretch programme to facilitate a weekly yoga class to bring mindfulness, relaxation and self awareness techniques to individuals who have found themselves in unfortunate circumstances. The aim is to provide tools for women and men in detention to practice techniques to calm themselves down when they need to disengage from confrontation by employing exercises to encourage self-control. The programme can also assist individuals suffering from traumatic experiences. Cognitively, yoga can assist with releasing trauma from the body. Participating in this program the participants will experience immediate effects of relaxation, and emotional release. Long term effects of a regular practice can include the following:

Teaching yoga in a High Security Correctional Facilities and the Juvenile Justice system has given me great pleasure in seeing the incredible transformation in so many men, woman and youths. Even if they attend for the physical practice, they feel so much better as they are releasing anxiety that their body holds. The positive effect it has had with the centres I am teaching in currently has made me more determined to offer yoga and mindfulness to other people who have found themselves in difficult situations.
